Is all 104 MB 3D V-Cache?
No. The total combines 8 MB of L2 cache and 96 MB of L3 cache. The processor includes AMD 3D V-Cache technology; 104 MB is not the size of the stacked cache alone.
Does it work with an AM4 board or DDR4 memory?
No. This processor requires an AM5 socket and DDR5 memory. Before buying, check your motherboard manufacturer’s CPU support list for the Ryzen 7 9850X3D and the required BIOS version.
Is a cooler included?
A cooler is not included. AMD recommends liquid cooling for optimal performance. Check AM5 mounting compatibility, case clearance and the thermal capacity of your chosen solution.
Do I need a dedicated graphics card?
It includes AMD Radeon integrated graphics for display output and basic tasks. For a system built for demanding games, choose a dedicated GPU suited to your monitor and the games you play.

Which motherboard do I need?
Socket AM5. The manufacturer lists the A620, B650, B650E, B840, B850, X670, X670E, X870 and X870E chipsets as compatible; also confirm that your board BIOS supports this model.
Does it include a cooler?
No. The manufacturer sheet states that no cooler is included, so you need one that fits AM5 and has headroom for its 120 W TDP.
Which memory does it use?
DDR5. The maximum speed depends on the board and on enabling the EXPO or XMP profile, which is overclocking and is not guaranteed by the manufacturer.
How do I know it fits what I already have?
